Aging Services The Aging Services Division provides and supports a broad range of services and programs for seniors and their families, including nutrition, long-term care, volunteer services, and events.
Animal Management The Animal Management Division (AMG) assists the citizens of Prince George's County with a full range of situations involving animals. Services include licensing, inoculations, shelters, adoptions, lost and found, and humane education programs.
Art in Public Places Art in Public Places is a dynamic process that challenges artists to respond innovatively to the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of Prince George's County.

Assessment Office

The Assessor's office is responsible for valuing and listing all taxable property within its jurisdiction.

Bidding Opportunity Guide [PDF]

The Office of Central Services provides the Bidding Opportunity Guide to the community in order to provide advance notice of upcoming bidding opportunities.
Bills and Resolutions Bills and resolutions considered by the County Council from 1990 to the present, accessed through the Legislative Information System (LIS).
Board of Education The Board of Education web site provides resources for parents, students and residents in the County. Additionally, the site provides information about Board members, public schools, and policies and procedures.
Board of Elections Provides information and services related to voter registration, absentee ballots, precincts and polling places, becoming an election judge, municipal elections, and frequently asked questions.

Cable Television Commission The Cable Television Commission enforces the County's franchise with Comcast Cable Communications. Meetings are held each month and are open to the public.
Cemetery Regulation for Prince George's County For-profit cemeteries that operate in the County are regulated by Prince George's County and the State of Maryland. If you have questions or problems relating to one of these cemeteries, contact the Department of Environmental Resources at (301) 883-5812 or call the Maryland State Office of Cemetery Oversight at (410) 230-6229.
Central Services, Office of Administers centralized support services for the County Government, including facilities operation and management, contract administration and procurement, fleet management, real estate, and administrative services.
Children, Youth & Families Services Works to improve the quality of life for children and their families in Prince George's County. This includes planning, implementation and monitoring a system of care that helps children and their families build on their strengths and to be self-sufficient, safe and healthy in their homes and communities.
Circuit Court The Circuit Court is the general jurisdiction trial Court that has full common law equity powers in all civil and criminal cases, along with additional powers and jurisdiction conferred by the Constitution.
Clerk of the Circuit Court The Prince George's County Clerk of the Court's office files, processes, and maintains civil, criminal and juvenile actions.
Community Services Community Services Division (CSD) enforces the County's Housing and Property maintenance requirements. CSD inspectors also ensure that businesses applying for Use and Occupancy Permits meet all applicable Fire Code requirements.
Community Use of Public Facilities Provided by the Public Libraries, the use of meeting and/or conference rooms by groups in Prince George's County is available to those who agree to observe the rules and whose activities will not adversely affect library operations.

Disaster - Prepare & Plan These files contain informative and instructional information on what your family can do to prepare for unforeseen disaster.

Economic Development Corporation Offers a series of business assistance programs from expediting permits and approvals, providing access to County and State business incentives, to arranging financing for commercial development or small business loans.
Education, Board of The Board of Education web site provides resources for parents, students and residents in the County. Additionally, the site provides information about Board members, public schools, and policies and procedures.
Emergency Financial Assistance Provides financial assistance if you are facing an eviction , utility cut-off, foreclosure, relocation after an eviction, or work-related expenses
Emergency Food Assistance Food is provided to eligible individuals and families free of charge.
Emergency Shelter Emergency Shelters provide a clean and safe environment for individuals and families in Prince George's County.
Employment Check out current career opportunities and apply online. Also, the Career Opportunity Center provides information about the application process and employment with Prince George's County.
Emergency Management Provides for the preparation and carrying out of plans for the defense of persons and property within the County in the event of an enemy attack, sabotage or other hostile action, or from fire, flood, earthquake, hurricane, or other natural causes. Prepares the Family Disaster Plan.

Environmental Resources, Department of (DER)

 

Responds to the needs of the public by improving the quality of life through the enhancement and cultivation of the natural and created environment. Departments include Animal Management, Community Standards, Programs & Planning, Permit Review, and Waste Management.

Family Disaster Plan (PDF) Informative and instructional information on what your family can do to prepare for unforeseen disaster.
Family Investment Administration Helps families and individuals with temporary assistance and ongoing assistance through the Temporary Cash Assistance program, Food Stamps, Medial Assistance, the Child Care Voucher Program, Emergency Assistance and the TEMHA program.
Family Services Devoted to making services available that improve the quality of life for individuals and families, and that support and strengthen our community. Including Aging Services, Children, Youth & Families, Individuals with Disabilities, Mental Health Authority, and Management Services.
Fire/EMS Department Provides Fire and Emergency Management Services.
Flood Management It is the policy of the Prince George's County Government to preserve the 100 year floodplain as part of the natural system of a stream, and to further preserve it in a natural state in order to provide adequate storage for flood waters and sufficient floodway capacity to safely move flood waters downstream.

Health Department Provides health services to the residents of Prince George's County, including disease control, environmental health, individual health services for adolescents, adults and seniors, and women and children.
Healthy Families Prince George's A voluntary program that provides support to first time mothers under the age of 25, and to the children's fathers. Services include prenatal support, intensive home visiting and mentoring services.
Homeownership Guide  
Housing & Community Development Services include Housing and Rental Assistance, Community Planning & Development, and Housing Development.
Housing & Homeless Services Provides Homelessness Prevention, Emergency Assistance, Utility Assistance, Emergency Food Assistance, Emergency Shelter, and Transitional Housing.

Information Technology & Communication, Office of

OITC is a centralized support agency with responsibilities for diverse missions that includes the administration and management of County's data processing systems, voice & data telecommunications networks and geographic information system.

Land Records Acts as custodian for the recording and maintenance of all public records connected to real estate in Prince George's County. Contact them for recording or state transfer tax fees or for any other inquiries regarding Land Records
Law Library Catalog Search the Law Library Catalog online. All holdings of the law library are listed.
Law, Office of Serves all County agencies and citizens and effectively enforces the civil laws of the County.
Leaf Collection DPW&T operates its Leaf Collection Program in the fall. The program includes the collection of leaves that have been raked and/or bagged and placed at the roadside.
Legislative Branch/Council All legislative powers of the County are vested in the County Council. In addition, the County Council sits as the District Council on zoning and land use matters, and as the Board of Health on health policy matters.

Mental Health Authority Oversees public mental health services here in Prince George's County. The Mental Health Authority Division ensures that individuals with mental illnesses receive the care they need.

National Flood Insurance program In 1968, Congress created the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in response to escalating costs to taxpayers to fund flood relief efforts and the increasing amount of damage caused by floods. NFIP, which is managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), makes Federally backed flood insurance available in communities that agree to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations to reduce flood damage.

Office Of Homeland Security The Homeland Security Advisory System is a means to disseminate information regarding the risk of terrorist acts to federal, state, and local authorities and to the American people.
Orphan's Court Hears all matters involving decedent's estates which are contested and supervises all those estates which are probated judicially.

The Revenue Authority is dedicated to promoting the public interest of Prince George's County by: facilitating economic development and employment growth, owning, operating and maintaining revenue producing facilities, financing county capital improvement projects, and managing a self-supporting public parking program.

Programs & Planning Division

Administers stormwater management, flood damage assessment, flood insurance information, allocation of water and sewer service allocation, the reforestation of designated areas, and the restoration of degraded streams and ponds.

Provides a wide array of services that affect the lives of those who want to be employees, those who are currently employed by the County, and those who are former employees.
