District III has the smallest patrol area of 29 square miles, but a very dense population of over 131,500. It borders Washington DC's Eastern and Southern Avenues to the east and has FedEx Field within it patrol area. District III's facility is housed in the Palmer Park, Police Services Complex building which also houses the Criminal Investigations Division, Forensic Services Division, Headquarters Command Staff and some of the Community Policing Institute.
