The Community Advisory Council for the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections was created in February 2005. It was designed to help the Department connect with the community to assist released inmates to make a successful return to the community. Since its formation, the Council has conducted several meetings with a focus on partnering with members of the community and challenging them to participate in the reintegration process of inmates. The Council has representatives on it from public safety and other county agencies, religious and non-profit organizations, educational institutions, community programs, Circuit and District Court, as well as public relations practitioners, community leaders, and citizen services providers.

DOCCAC Leadership

Message from the Council Chair:

The DOCCAC is committed to raising awareness about the various opportunities and programs that are available to the members of the community as they reintegrate back into society. I challenge each of you to join us in our efforts to build partnerships with various groups within the community. Our targeted goal is to form partnerships with local businesses, faith-based organizations and civic/nonprofit organizations. I also want to invite the members of the community to join the Community Advisory Council and begin to make a difference in the lives of the members of our community.
Ms. Charlotte M. Jackson
Council Chair

Message from the Director:

The Community Advisory Council is a viable resource to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. The DOCCAC provides an opportunity for us to partner with the various constituency groups within the community to assist with the care, custody, protection, and the overall wellbeing of our population. It is my hope that the DOCCAC will continue to promote and forge partnerships with various groups to garner support for programming and aftercare components that aide the reintegration process. The Department of Corrections will continue to support the work and efforts of the Community Advisory Council. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the citizens of Prince George’s County and the Department of Corrections.
